Saint Kitts and Nevis Notes Recent Participation in UN Ambassadorial Diplomatic Engagement in the Republic of Georgia
New York, 5 May 2026 – The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis is pleased to note the recent participation of Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Mutryce A. Williams, Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, in a United Nations ambassadorial high-level diplomatic and cultural exchange held in the Republic of Georgia.
The engagement, fully sponsored by the Government of the Republic of Georgia, broughdct together eight other Permanent Representatives and Ambassadors to the United Nations for a programme of exchanges aimed at strengthening international cooperation, enhancing mutual understanding, and exploring opportunities for expanded multilateral engagement.
Prime Minister the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew welcomed the engagement, stating:“Opportunities such as these are valuable for Saint Kitts and Nevis. They help to strengthen our international relationships, broaden our engagement, and support our efforts to advance national development through meaningful cooperation.
”During the visit, the delegation participated in meetings with senior Georgian officials, including the President of Georgia, His Excellency Mikheil Kavelashvili; the Prime Minister of Georgia, His Excellency Irakli Kobakhidze; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Her Excellency Maka Botchorishvili. These engagements provided an opportunity for the exchange of views on shared priorities, including diplomacy, development cooperation, and international peace and stability.
The programme also included cultural exchange activities designed to deepen appreciation of Georgia’s heritage and foster greater people-to-people understanding among participating nations.Ambassador Williams also joined her fellow Permanent Representatives in discussions focused on multilateral diplomacy, sustainable development, and the importance of inclusive participation of small states within the United Nations system.
The Government further notes that participation in such United Nations-level diplomatic and cultural exchanges contributes to strengthening the Federation’s international presence and supports ongoing efforts to build constructive relationships within the global community.
