Environment for Everyone Campaign Advances Nationwide Effort to Promote Environmental Wellness and Shared Responsibility
Basseterre, Saint Kitts, 31 March 2026 – The Environment for Everyone (EFE) Campaign continues to make meaningful strides in promoting a cleaner, healthier Saint Kitts and Nevis through a balanced approach that combines public service with personal accountability. Designed to promote environmental wellness as a shared public good, the campaign is steadily expanding its reach across all constituencies.
Following the partners’ official signing of the EFE’s Memorandum of Understanding in January 2026, and even prior, the EFE Campaign has successfully executed three (3) major community clean-up initiatives – a pre-carnival cleanup, a cleanup to address overgrown trees affecting the parking lot of the Water Department, and most recently, a cleanup of the Buckley’s/Beacon Heights passageway. Each activity reinforcing the importance of collective action in preserving and protecting the environment. These efforts form part of a broader national movement aimed at fostering long-term behavioral change, encouraging citizens to take ownership of their surroundings while also facilitating coordinated support and action between all partner agencies.
In this morning’s (31 March) Sitting of the National Assembly, the Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke updated the Federation on the EFE Campaign and underscored that “the environment – this space that we live, breathe, and work in – is for everyone”. She recommended that persons interested in participating in the initiative’s cleanups on a voluntary basis should connect with the Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment and/or any of the Campaign’s partner agencies (i.e., the Parks and Beaches Unit, the Solid Waste Management Corporation, the STEP Office, the Ministry of Health, the Department of Public Infrastructure, His Majesty’s Prison, SKELEC, and/or the Traffic Department).
As the campaign continues its mandate, organizers are placing increased emphasis on education, community engagement, and mindful practices that encourage environmental stewardship and fight against littering and illegal dumping. The Environment for Everyone Campaign calls on all citizens to play a more active role in maintaining a clean and sustainable environment.
